How to Use Local Image Optimizer

2 Choose Your Settings

Which format?
JPG: Photos, small file size
PNG: Logos & transparency
WEBP: Modern, smaller than JPG
TIFF: Uncompressed for printing

50% 90% 100%

Quality vs file size:
100% = Best quality, largest file (print)
90% = Great quality, smaller file (web)
70% = Good quality, smallest (email)

When to resize:
Percentage: Scale by % (50% = half size)
Dimensions: Set exact width/height in px

Fix sideways or upside-down photos, especially shots taken on a phone in the wrong orientation.

Automatically rename all files:
photo_{num} → photo_01.jpg
trip_{date} → trip_2024-01-15.jpg
Use {num}, {date}, {time}

Filters explained:
Grayscale: Black & white
Sepia: Vintage warm tone
Blur: Soften for backgrounds
Sharpen: Enhance edge clarity

3 Advanced Options

Click Advanced Options after uploading to access pro tools:

Higher = smaller file, potential quality loss. Start at 50% and adjust to your needs.

RGB: For screens
CMYK: For print
Grayscale: B&W only

72 DPI: Web/screens
300 DPI: Print photos
1200 DPI: Professional print

Automatically applies best compression settings so your images load fast on websites.

EXIF includes camera settings, date, and GPS location. Turn off to strip location data for privacy.

Text overlay on images to protect your work. Add your website or © copyright symbol.

4 Process Your Images

Hit Process Images and watch real-time progress per file. Everything runs in your browser instantly — no waiting for uploads. A before/after preview panel appears once processing is done.

5 Download Your Results

Download files individually via the download icon, or click Download ZIP to get all converted images in a single compressed folder.

Is my data private?
Yes — 100% private. All processing runs in your browser using the Canvas API. Your images never leave your computer and no data is sent to any server.
What formats are supported?
Input: JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF, BMP, TIFF, SVG, ICO, HEIC, and RAW. You can convert to all major web and print formats.
How many images can I process at once?
Up to 10 images per batch. Process and download, then load a new batch for more.
Can I convert HEIC to JPG?
Yes! Local Image Optimizer fully supports HEIC conversion. For best results, use Chrome or Edge browser.
How do I add a watermark?
Enable "Add Watermark" under Advanced Options, then customize the text, position, colors, and size before processing.
What does batch rename do?
It renames all processed files using a pattern you define. Use {num} for sequential numbering, {date} for today's date, or {time} for the current time.
