This agreement describes the conditions and rules under which Local Image Optimizer ("our company", "we", "us", "our") offers you its services at localimageoptimizer.com.

This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales, without reference to conflict of laws principles. You agree that any litigation relating to this agreement may only be brought in, and shall be subject to the jurisdiction of, the courts of England and Wales.

Terms

  1. Use of the localimageoptimizer.com service is at your own risk.
  2. All processing is performed in your browser. See the Privacy section below.
  3. You may use the localimageoptimizer.com service for any purpose, personal or commercial.
  4. We reserve the right to change or cease any services at localimageoptimizer.com at any time.
  5. We reserve the right to change the terms of this agreement without notice.
  6. The localimageoptimizer.com service does not provide any guarantees and is supplied "as is", without warranties of any kind.
  7. You are responsible for keeping your own backups of original images. Compression is irreversible and we cannot recover files for you.
  8. You retain all rights to the images you process. The website's own code, design, and written content remain the property of Local Image Optimizer and may not be copied or redistributed without permission.
  9. You agree not to use the service for any unlawful purpose, or to process content you do not have the right to use.
  10. The service may display advertising supplied by Google. Google's use of cookies is described in the Privacy section below.

Privacy

Your images never leave your device

All image processing is performed locally in your browser using its built-in image capabilities. Your files are never uploaded to a server, never stored by us, and never transmitted over the network during conversion, compression, or resizing. We do not collect, store, or have access to any files you process — this is technically impossible, because the files stay on your device. When you close or refresh the page, they are cleared from memory.

Information we collect

We do not require an account and we do not ask you for personal information to use the tool. We may receive limited, non-identifying technical data through the third-party services described below (for example, advertising and aggregated measurement data).

Cookies and local storage

We use your browser's local storage to remember preferences such as light or dark mode. This stays on your device and is not shared. Third-party services we use may set their own cookies, as described next.

Advertising and Google

This site may display advertising served by Google, including Google AdSense. Google collects data and uses cookies for ad personalisation and measurement on this site.

Consent

By using this site, you consent to our use of cookies and local storage as described above. If you are in the UK or the EEA, we ask for your consent before any non-essential (including advertising) cookies are set, and you may withdraw it at any time.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data held about you, and to object to certain processing. Because we do not collect or store your images or any account data, most such requests will relate only to data held by the third-party services listed above.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
